Meeting Justin Bieber on October 30, 2010 was the best day of my life, but not only for me, for my cousin Julissa, too. Earlier this year she was diagnosed with leukemia and it broke my heart not knowing if she was going to make it or not, but thank God she is now cancer-free! Make-A-Wish Foundation let her make a wish and her wish was to meet the ONE AND ONLY Justin Bieber. One afternoon her mom got a call from Make-A-Wish and said Julissa was going to be meeting Justin Bieber in 3 days! Her mom was literally screaming because of how excited she was. After she told me the exciting news, she told me to keep quiet because she wanted it to be a surprise for Julissa, so I did. The day before the concert we packed our stuff, because early in the morning a limo was going to be picking us up to drive us to the concert which was in San Diego; we’re from Los Angeles. It was finally the day of the concert and our ride was here. Throughout our 2 hour drive, Julissa had no idea what was going on until the driver dropped us off at the San Diego Arena. Julissa thought she was just going to see Justin perform. The kid was absolutely wrong. We were outside waiting for 2 of Justin’s coordinators to pick us up. Finally they picked us up and took us backstage! Backstage we saw Jaden Smith and thought that was cool. We kept following Justin’s coordinators until they led us to this little room. Julissa was really confused, she didn’t know what we were waiting for. After waiting for about 10 minutes, Justin comes into the room riding a Segway with Kenny Hamilton behind. In my head I was screaming because I could not believe it, while on the other hand Julissa was actually screaming! Seeing her SO happy brought tears to my eyes. Justin shook my hand then said hi to my cousin and smiled at both of us. He was in the room with us for about 10 minutes and this is what I remember…. Justin: “Sooo, I heard it’s your birthday. How old are you turning, 20?” Julissa: “Nooo, 9!” “Oh, I thought you might’ve been turning 20.” I thought that was soo cute! He sat down on the coffee table in front of us and asked me, “So are you guys sisters?” I responded and said, “No, we’re cousins.” and he said, “Oh I see, that’s cool.” Then he turned to my cousin and told her she was adorable, she just giggled. Then they started chitchatting and this is what I remember… Justin: “What’s your favorite song?” Julissa: “Love Me.” Justin: “Love Me? Okay then, that’s the first song I’ll sing tonight, just for you okay?” Julissa: “Okay, can you sign my book?” Justin: “Have you read it?” Julissa: “Noo..” Justin: “Well, until you finish reading the book, then I’ll sign in.” “Here, lets read some together.” So, while Justin was reading to my cousin, I was just staring at him. I mean he was right in front of me, practically leaning on me! I was just checking him out, not gonna lie! Haha. Justin: “Now that you’ve read some of the book, I’ll sign it.” and so he did. He turned to me and this is how it went… Justin: “Have you read the book yet?” Me: “Noo, I just got it yesterday.” Justin: “Ohh, well you should start reading it.” Me: “Oh, I will.” Justin: “Alright, cool cool.” Justin then told Julissa, “You should have your cousin read the book to you.” I just smiled. I asked him if he could sign some of my stuff and he did, then he said he was going to be right back and I could hear him next door singing. He came back like a minute later and the conversation continued. Justin: “So do you have any questions for me? If you don’t, you don’t have to ask me any.” Julissa was so shy, she started blushing. Her first question was, “Can you kiss me?” You know what Justin did?! He kissed her on the cheek! Then Julissa got the nerve to tell him to kiss me too and I was like “Uhh…?” I was shy! He just giggled and smiled at me. She asked him a few more questions and her last question was, “Can you sing me Happy Birthday?” Justin said okay and asked us to sing along with him so we did. After, Justin got a guitar and told Julissa that it was the EXACT same guitar he owned! I thought that was awesome! Justin asked her for her name and he signed the guitar with, “Julissa, God is love. Justin Bieber ♥” We took some pictures with him and he told us it was great meeting us then he went bye bye. After he left the room, Julissa and I were just freaking out! Leaving the room, we saw Justin in the other room eating Chik-A-Fila. One of his coordinators was leading us to our seats, when I asked if we could take a picture with Jaden Smith so we did. Then I spotted Scooter and asked him if we could take a picture so he let us. Justin’s coordinator let Scooter know that it was Julissa’s birthday and he was like, “Oh really? Well since you’re the birthday girl, you’re the boss of me, so tell me anything and I’ll do it.” Julissa said, “Dance like Justin Bieber!” Scooter started doing some Bieber moves then she asked him to run around backstage so he did, and I was just laughing! He gave us one last hug and finally we were being lead to our seats. We got FRONT ROW TICKETS so that was awesome! After waiting for Justin, he came out singing ‘Love Me’ and I was like “OMG! HE’S ACTUALLY SINGING MY COUSIN’S FAVORITE SONG!” It was amazing. When Justin was on our side singing, he looked down and smiled and waved at Julissa, because he remembered her from earlier. Kenny was in front of us and when he noticed me, he said hi. Throughout some of the time he was just talking to us and before the concert ended, he gave Julissa a guitar pick! It was an awesome Bieber pick! Well that was mine and Julissa’s best day of our lives! The best part was seeing how happy my little cousin was. I just enjoyed seeing her smile the whole time, I’ll never forget this day with her and Justin Bieber. This goes out to every Belieber, if your dream is to see/meet Justin, never say never. I used to always tell myself I would never meet such an amazing guy like him, until I did last year, but being with him another time and for a longer time was even better!
